When the owners of the Recher Theatre asked me to design and install a new system for them, this is
what we did. We started work on Sunday morning at 9am and completed the installation in four days!
In order to fly the speaker clusters, we had to install new 4" I-beams above the drop ceiling and above
the original plaster ceiling. The new beams were then welded to the existing structural beams. The
original structural beams were not at equal heights above finished floor (!) which meant we had to
order custom made steel cable lengths to dead hang the clusters. All new digital consoles (at front of
house as well as for monitors) were installed along with processing. Nexo Alpha clusters and SIX dual
18" subwoofers were installed along with a pair of front fills to cover the first two or three rows of
concertgoers. New Nexo monitors were also installed. Not only does the new system sound
appreciably better, the site lines to the stage are now much more open.
